Smoking and Fireplaces - Do you refrain from smoking in bed?
- Do you remember to check the fireplace for smoldering embers before retiring?

- Do you dispose of smoking materials and fire ashes carefully?
- Do you keep matches and lighters away from children?
Heating and Cooking - Are all fuel-burning heaters and stoves property vented?
- Are kitchen air ducts, ovens and burner plates free of grease?
- Are heaters away from combustible materials?
- Was your heating equipment inspected this year?
Wiring - Are any electrical cords worn out?
- Are any electrical cords hidden under rugs?
- Are all your fuses the proper size?
- Is your home properly wired for air conditioning units?
- Do you unplug the TV set(s) before leaving home for an extended period?
Storage - Are your attic, basement, closets garage, and yard clear of rubbish, papers, etc.?
- Are all flammable liquids stored in closed metal containers?
- Are they kept away from heat and out of children*s reach?
