Stephen Hart was the first settler to own land and the area was called “Land Att Nod”. The town was incorporated in 1830, but the town was referred to as Avon as early as 1753 as it was named after the Avon River in England. Avon Day is an annual celebration in Avon. Avon Day 2016 will be held on Saturday, September 24th. The entire town gets together to celebrate the history of the town. There will be rides and games for children, live music, and food. Avon lasts all day and into the evening and this is a perfect time to visit the town. The Living Museum is the place to learn about the history of Avon. There are exhibits, informational films, and much more. Fisher Meadows is the ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts. Fisher Meadows is over 250 acres and a lake where fishing and boating can be done. There is trails for hiking, walking and joking, and they also offer camping too.

In Avon CT We found a thin, failing crown with minor mortar deterioration on one chimney side , with the top course of brick in poor shape. We removed the crown , reset brick and constructed a new cement crown wash with a stainless termination cap.
