A customer called up for an estimate to repoint the chimney as it was in disrepair. We explained that pointing only fills gaps in the mortar and does nothing else with the brick or crown and that the chimney would not look any better, nor would there be any structural improvement. Customer instantly agreed that rebuilding the chimney was the way to go.
