Windsor was the first English settlement in Connecticut. The population for the city is 29,044. The motto for the city is “First in Connecticut, First for its Citizens”. The city was first settled in 1633, then named in 1637. The city is six miles from Hartford and is a great place to live or to visit.
The Windsor Meadows State Park is located on the edge of the city and the Connecticut River runs along the edge of the park.
