One of our customers from Stratford, Conneticut, was needing their metal chimney replaced. The customer called because of an ongoing chimney leak problem from their old, rusty chimney pipe that services their oil burner flue. It is not uncommon that cheap galvanized metal pipes are installed during the original construction to save money. These systems don’t last long , they are rarely insulated properly, and more often than not, the type of chimney pipe used cannot be matched. Chimney pipe is not mix and match. We need to find the original manufacturers pipe if possible , or replace everything. We had to replace the severely damaged metal prefabricated chimney flue system, as well as perform some roofing repair and new chimney flashing. We used an insulated stainless steel Class A chimney system to safely vent the appliance, as well as remain water tight. These systems NEVER rust or corrode and are a lifetime solution for problems such as these. Our customer was very happy with the results and their chimney is working better than ever!
